Established 2009 in Åkersberga, is the result of the co-operation between the world leading educator in Lasers in Dentistry: Prof N. Gutknecht, AALZ, Aachen University, RWTH Aachen and DDS Peter Fahlstedt, Sweden. The Institute for Laser Supported Dentistry, ILSD, applies to the dentist / dental hygienist who wants to acquire a good knowledge in our specialized field, laser supported dentistry. With sufficient knownledge, the laser can be used in a safe and satisfying way where we today find indication for its use.

 

We offer education based on objective science and we constitute a reference clinic for safe use of lasers in dentistry.

 

Today our students represent privat dental care, Public Dental Device and Hospital Dental Service. All students who are looking to us has the right to receive the most thoroughly up to date, impartial and scientific decision-making bases for their continuing professional careers as responsible dental care providers.

For best outcome of the education, the number of participants are deliberately held low to each course date, and we adapt the content as much as possible after the participants needs. Theory is mixed with image/video presentations and well-prepared practice by hands-on workshop. Here we have access to most of the laser system available in the Nordic countries.

Live-demonstrations on patient are digitally transfered to the seminar-room dimensioned for up to 20 participants.

Our premises are designed to meet the regulations and recommendations edit by the authorities. Measures are taken in consideration to the biophysical properties of laser light.

The work-shop room are equipped with safety shield and exhaust with HEPA-filter.

 

We offer training courses at various levels, and in the form of 3-hours lectures, one-day Laser Safety Officer courses, Workshops and 1 - and 2 - years University courses.

The languages spoken are English and Swedish.

 

This we can offer in our capacity as a partner to AALZ, Aachen University, Germany. Scientific leader and officer lecturer at AALZ is Professor Norbert Gutknecht, all our courses are recognized and accredited by Aachen University.

 

Officer lecturer at ILSD is dentist Peter Fahlstedt, Master of Science in "Laser in Dentistry" at AALZ and European Master Degree in Oral Applications. Peter Fahlstedt have otherwise 25 years experience as a privat general dental practitioner. Other lecturers are leading physicists, researchers and writers in the field "Laser in Dentistry".
