Tandmakaren AB, dentist Peter Fahlstedt with team, has offered dentistry since 1984 in the municipalities Täby and Österåker in Sweden. Since the beginning our ambition has been to find responsible, sustainable alternatives to the parts in dentistry that are unpleasant, less biological or even harmful to the patient, surroundings and staff. In 1987, we left the amalgam in favour of ceramic composite. Techniques like mini-invasive cavity preparation, gentler anaesthetic techniques, implantology has led to a better situation for patients and staff. In 1998, we introduced digital radiography and intra-oral camera, which led to decreased radiation dose, improved diagnosis and a good opportunity to document with photography. In 2002, we could offer our patients surgical placement of implant screws in our clinic. When we in 2006 began using laser-support in our treatments, we had a hunch about the new, very special opportunities that awaited us. Here we began our project: to create a clinic offering patients laser-supported dentistry in all treatments where it is beneficial to the patient.
As the clinic in 2009 moved into the adapted facilities of ILSD Sweden AB, we have developed an overall concept of protocols for laser-support in all types of treatments. We have thus taken a major step into the future of dentistry.
ILSD Sweden AB established 2009 in Åkersberga, is the result of the co-operation between the world leading educator in Lasers in Dentistry: Prof N. Gutknecht, AAALZ, Aachen University, RWTH Aachen and dr Peter Fahlstedt, Sweden. The Institute for Laser Supported Dentistry, ILSD applies to the dentist / dental hygienist who wants to acquire a good knowledge in our specialized field, laser supported dentistry.
